Before the age of man, in the deep reaches of outer space, an evil entity named Xandross ruled the universe with an iron fist! His goal was to plunge the universe into chaos and have every alien civilization in the universe serve him. Xandross almost had his way; however, a brave warrior named Atticus stepped up and took on Xandross. It was truly a battle of light versus dark; a battle prophesied before the dawn of time. After defeating the evil Xandross, Atticus disappeared into the shadows. However, before disappearing entirely, Atticus spread his energy and power throughout the galaxy. The prophecy foretold the downfall of Xandross by a warrior with the power of light. With the defeat of Xandross, apparently, the prophecy was fulfilled. Many years later, on Earth, we found ourselves in a place called Shield City. Shield City is a rough and tough place to live, where crime is rampant and is controlled by a crime lord named Jax. After a mishap during a billion dollar heist, chemicals are released into the air and infused with the energy of Atticus, which creates a disastrous storm over Shield City. The first person to be affected by this storm is a boy named Clyde Watts, who gets struck by a lightning bolt infused with the essence of Atticus. Days after the chemical storm, Clyde begins seeing visions of Atticus, who keeps telling him about an upcoming war and how it is up to him to be the light in the darkness. Besides this, Clyde gains the power to control light energy and the people around Shield City also begin to awaken superhuman abilities.Under the guise of Wire, it is up to Clyde to maintain peace in Shield City; however, that is just the icing on the cake. Clyde soon realizes that he is the destined warrior who must also bring peace to the entire universe. To realize his destiny, Clyde must grow into his role by facing off against mutants, mythical creatures, criminal masterminds, interdimensional entities, deadly assassins and intergalactic threats, which will all lead up to an ultimate and final battle for the universe!However, before we get to that point, it is important to see where this story all started. In High Voltage: Beginnings, the reader will see how it all began. You will see the fight between Atticus and Xandross, how it all led to the creation of the Earth, what Clyde was like before becoming a hero and how Jax influenced Shield City. This story is how is how it all began! This is the very beginning.
